The five scenes depicting moments from Napoleon's life in the Hermès Napoleon scarf's lockets are based on famous paintings of the period
 They are:
1.Top-left: The Crossing of the St Bernard Pass, a scene based on the painting by Jacques-Louis David.
2. Top-right: The presentation of honorary sabers at Marengo, inspired by the work of Antoine Gros. 
3. Bottom-left: Napoleon injured at Ratisbon, derived from the painting by Pierre-Claude Gautherot.
4. Bottom-right: The Battle of Wagram, reflecting the painting by Horace Vernet.
5. Center: The arrival at the coronation ceremony at Notre-Dame Cathedral on December 2, 1804. This scene is based on an engraving from the "Livre du Sacre".
